Enchanted Brides - Bridal Show
Saturday, January 20, 2007 The start of 2007 has been very busy for us so far.
One of the events that have kept us busy was the Enchanted Brides Bridal Show at the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall on January 7th. It was our first bridal show so we wanted everything to look especially nice. Lynette, ever the perfectionist, worked so hard on new brochures, price sheets, tables and tablecloths, signs, and a new demo video clip, just to name a few. As brides visited our booth, we wanted them to be able to watch the demo clip on a widescreen TV, as well as actual wedding videos on a portable DVD player, laptop PC, and iPod. The day before the show, Joey Pippin surprised us with an 8 ft. pop-up sign for the booth. Now we were ready! And we were excited! All three of us crammed ourselves into the booth and waited for the brides.
Unfortunately, that Sunday morning dawned rainy and wet -- a good day to stay home. And we think that alot of brides did just that. But the brides who did stop by seemed genuinely interested and we've even booked a wedding from the show !
During the show, we were able to visit with several people we've worked with in the past and we met new people in the industry. We also met Shannon Gray, the Enchanted Brides 2007 Dream Wedding winner. This reminds us what a small world it is. Lynette went to high school with the mother of Shannon's groom, Josh Callis. (She and Josh's mother remain close friends to this day.) All in all, it was a busy day. Even though the actual turnout was on the small side, we feel it was time well spent. And now we're ready for our next bridal show!
We were impressed with the overall grandeur of the Symphony Hall -- what a great addition to Nashville! If you don't already know, the Schermerhorn is available as a venue for weddings and receptions. Any function held there would be amazing, I'm sure. We're looking forward to our first wedding and reception there.
