ENCHANTED BRIDES - BRIDAL SHOW 2009

Greetings in 2009! This is my first note since the new year and I hope that this finds everyone well and easing their way back into a normal routine again after the holidays and such. I can’t speak for Lynette or Amanda, but I am baby-stepping my way into a “normal” routine again, whatever that is!

I can speak for Lynette and Amanda in saying that we are all working hard on editing our 2008 weddings. We had such great weddings in 2008 that we can’t wait to get them all edited so we can see them all again!

However, this past Thursday we took some time and made an appearance at the Enchanted Brides 2009 Bridal Show which was held at The Country Music Hall of Fame. We don’t do a lot of bridal shows, but we did this show last year and had such a good time that we wanted to do it again this year. And I’m glad that we did.

Lynette and I worked the actual show this year. Amanda helped Lynette in getting our booth set up. This seems to work out well for us because Amanda is generally up and around during the day and I’m more of the night owl. Lynette, of course, was there the entire time during set-up and during the show because, well, she just has to be!

This year we also had another helper, which is our friend Amy who has helped us out several times during 2008. Amy is young and bright and talented and smart and pretty and nice and we all love her to death. Anyway, this year Lynette thought it would be a good idea to have a young woman in the booth to attract the brides, and I’m sorry, but Amanda is the youngest of the three of us and we don't consider her young anymore! Plus, Lynette thought it would also be a great idea if Amy wore a wedding dress while working the show! And it WAS a great idea! Amy looked gorgeous in a beautiful gown donated for the evening by Faccio Bridal.

Faccio was so nice to loan a dress to us to use! And a beautiful dress, too!!!!

Many of our past brides have worn gowns from Faccio so we wanted to show a dress that one of our brides might actually wear. Plus, we had heard so many wonderful things about Beth and Elizabeth of Faccio Bridal and their great customer service, that we wanted to meet them. And we found that Faccio was everything we had heard it to be. And because we were so impressed, we have featured them in a Vendor Spotlight post!

Anyway, the evening was a lot of fun and we met a lot of very nice brides. Many of them come to mind, but one bride in particular made an impression in that she came up and even though we didn’t know her, she seemed to know us, and told us that she knew that we were a team of three women, two sisters and a niece…..! It seems she reads our blog! Wow! That was so nice to hear! So if the bride who is getting married in June 2010 is out there, let us hear from you! :--)

Anyway, getting back to our booth. Amy and I greeted brides most of the night and Lynette remained mostly in the background, (resting!), but available to pop up at a moments notice if needed.  It was also fun to have friends in the booth next to ours. Friend and photographer Derrick Pierce of D. Pierce Studio and his lovely wife Laura were our next-door-booth-neighbors and whenever we had a lull in the evening, we would visit and keep each other laughing.

We also made friends with Taylor, of “Lavish Events”, who had a booth across from us. Even though Taylor’s wife Tara is the person behind “Lavish Events”, Taylor was standing in for her most of the evening. And since I am a pink girl, I stared all evening at the pink glass bulbs that were hanging in their booth…..I wanted to take them home with me! So pretty!

Even though I was working the show and helping greet and talk with brides, it was, after all, a bridal show, so I HAD to take a little time to walk around and see who and what all was there! Good thing Lynette had Amy to help her out while I was gone. I knew there were cakes there to be tasted, so I did some cake tasting! Yummm. Maples Wedding Cakes had a booth with some of the most glamorous (can a cake be glamorous?) and absolutely amazing looking cakes as well as yummy wedding cake samples. I spent a lot of time there. :--)

I also found more wedding cakes from the French Confection Bakery. What caught my eye there were not only the yummy samples, but a familiar cake known as “Old Smokey”. That’s the cake that’s actually in the shape of a dog (UT's mascot).  We did a wedding in December where “Old Smokey” was served!

And speaking of that December wedding, I ran into the wedding planner, Mary Alice of “A Delightful Day”, from that same wedding! It’s always nice to see other vendors that you know and have worked with!

Another vendor that I ran into was “Blue Tone Music”. We have done so many weddings where they played at the reception, I can’t count them all. The last one we did together was this past summer where the electricity went out during the reception. That was a memorable wedding!

And another vendor, The White Room, also had a booth. Several of our brides have worn gowns from The White Room and it’s always nice to meet the people behind the beautiful gowns.

It’s also fun to meet vendors that you hope to be working with soon.  There was one booth at the show that really caught my attention. It had a hot air balloon with a bride and groom in the basket.  Of course it wasn’t REALLY a hot air balloon, but it was a great design of one! Anyway, that caught my attention, as well as everyone else’s attention at the show. The booth was for “Reveal Events Style”, and Jennifer, who owns “Reveal Events Style”, was so nice and friendly! I think it would be fun to do a wedding with her!

During my rounds I did see the booth for “Photo Booth Nashville”, but didn’t have a chance to stop and say hi, since we’ve also done several weddings with them as well. But I think Lynette stopped by earlier and said hello…..

I made it back to our booth just in time to see Ashley from “Ashley’s Bride Guide”. She looked as adorable as ever with her cute hair and outfit and wild woman boots!

Whew! It was a busy night, but a fun night. We enjoy so much getting out and meeting and talking with other wedding vendors, but mostly we enjoy getting out and meeting and talking with the brides. If any of the brides who came by our booth happen to read this, we would love to hear from you!

And now we’re off to a great 2009….. and back to editing….. and I’m off to bed!

Hi Lynette and Cheryl-
Just wanted to say I'm so glad your show went well. You should have me at the next one to testify for you since we've used you for all three of our childrens' weddings. I'd be more than happry to do that for you and let everyone know how great you are. What a beautiful couple in your poster in the first two pictures (my son and daughter-in-law) and in the third picture (the video is my daughter and son-in-law). Thanks for using my children in your advertising. If anyone needs a recommendation, I'm more than happy to talk to them. Amy looks beautiful. So happy she is helping you.
