MEGHAN & CHAD

Has everyone been watching the Olympics? I haven’t. Summer Olympics aren’t as fun to watch as the Winter Olympics, at least not for me. I’m a Winter Girl, even when it comes to the Olympics! I hope those of you who love the Summer Olympics are having a GREAT time! Go USA!!!!  I did want to watch the opening ceremony, tho, because I heard it was going to be an awesome show. But instead, I went to a rehearsal for an awesome wedding we covered this weekend!

This past weekend, Meghan and Chad were married in a beautiful ceremony at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ.  Saturday couldn’t have been a prettier day if we had ordered it ourselves! Meghan and Chad were a delightful couple to work with, and they both had a lively bunch of friends in their wedding, so it really was fun!

I don’t know if this is a sign of things to come, but Meghan and Chad chose not to see each other before the ceremony. Lynette and I were talking after the rehearsal, and it seems that we haven’t had a single couple yet this year who wanted to see each other before the ceremony. I think this is nice and traditional, and there is that anticipation when the bride walks down the aisle when the groom hasn’t seen her. But then again, I never get to see the bride before the wedding! :--(

Anyway, this wedding was also a great one in that we all know the church very well since we’ve done a lot of weddings there. And we know the Event Planner, James Brown, very well too and enjoy working with him and his team.  We also got to work with one of our favorite photographers, Derrick Pierce and his lovely wife Laura. It really WAS the perfect day!

Before the ceremony I hung out with the guys, and Lynette and Amanda were with Meghan and her friends. Chad and his guys were super fun to work with! Chad was really funny (ha ha funny) and it was hard to keep from giggling from behind the camera. His friends were also a funny (ha ha funny) bunch too. The time before the ceremony went by fast.

A few of the bridesmaids came to visit some of the guys during the prep so I was able to see their dresses. They were so pretty! This was our first wedding where the bridesmaids wore short yellow bubble dresses! The dresses fit the color scheme of the wedding perfectly, and they seemed to fit the bride’s personality as well, since they were so cute and fun.

The ceremony itself was beautiful. The flowers were gorgeous! I think every other pew had a flower bouquet arrangement on the end of it, which looked so pretty as you looked down the aisle. And Meghan was extra happy with her bridal bouquet. She had wanted white tulips for her bouquet, but since it’s not “tulip season” she didn’t know if the florist was going to be able to make her a full bouquet of white tulips. She was sooooo surprised and happy when she got to the church and saw her bridal bouquet……a full bouquet of white tulips, opened to just the perfect size. What a nice surprise to get on your wedding day!

For this reason, and also because all of the flowers at the wedding and reception were so beautiful, the Vendor Spotlight this week is on floral designer, John Conger!  Check out our Vendor in the Spotlight for more information about this incredible designer.  Photos of the flowers and centerpieces are posted there as well.

After the ceremony, Lynette and I went to the reception, and Amanda stayed at the church to get the photo shoot and also Meghan and Chad’s exit there. I haven’t seen footage of their exit yet, but it sounds exciting in that they didn’t run out between bubbles or rose petals or sparklers, but rather, in Chad’s words, “twirly colorful things”. I can’t wait to see what that is! :--)

The reception was held at Hillwood Country Club, and for the first time ever, Lynette beat me there. Well, she didn’t ACTUALLY beat me there. I got there first, but I stayed in my car for a few minutes getting my camera ready for the reception, and that lengthy delay gave Lynette the chance to putt-putt in and make it into the country club first. :-)

Again, the reception was decorated beautifully! The flowers were gorgeous, and the buffet was yummy. And of course, the wedding cake was lovely! And we also had a very interesting groom’s cake too! I love it when we have a groom’s cake because they usually are all very creative.

I was also excited about the reception because Tyrone Smith, better known as Super T was the entertainment for the evening! He and his band know how to get a party started. In fact, they ARE the party! Of course one of the highlights of the evening was when Super T got the bridesmaids and Meghan on the stage with him to, in his words, “move your bodies, move your bodies”! At the end, Chad got onstage with Meghan and danced. It was so much fun!

Super T was really getting the party started as time ran out and Lynette and I left for the evening. But we know that everyone was having a great time, and we want to thank Meghan and Chad and their families for allowing us to record their day for them. The best of everything to all of you!

Alas, I have just taken my last sip of Pepsi... so that means that its time for me to go to bed . . .

UPDATE:  Meghan and Chad's wedding movie is now posted online!
