FRANKLIN BRIDAL BALL 2008
Saturday, July 19, 2008
Hello! Hello? Hellooooo! It’s me. Sleepyhead here. It’s the middle of the night and it’s the first chance I’ve had to write in my blog in a long time and I wanted to write about the Franklin Bridal Ball that we attended this week. Well, we didn’t actually attend. We had a booth at the Bridal Ball. I guess there’s a difference. Anyway, The Franklin Bridal Ball was held this past Thursday at The Factory at Franklin, which is always a fun place in Franklin, and we were lucky enough to have a booth in Jamison Hall, which is our favorite place at The Factory! It was a lot of hard work, but it was also a lot of fun.
Actually, Lynette and Amanda did most of the hard work long before I got there when the doors opened at 5:00 pm. They had the pleasure of setting up the booth, which involves bringing in tables and a screen and movie posters and videos and decorations, and tons of other stuff that goes into making a videography booth look nice.

It’s not like we have pretty flower arrangements or table centerpieces to catch a bride’s attention. We only have our great video playing in the background, so we always try to make the booth look really nice so that brides will want to visit and watch our video.
Lynette did an amazing job this year in coming up with movie posters spotlighting some of our weddings. That was a big hit! We wanted to raise the bar a little bit and show that we just don’t make a video of your special day, but it’s more like a movie.
Anyway, since Amanda has a little girl at home, she left after setting up the booth, and I stayed to work the show. Lynette worked the entire day! I tried to be of help, but of course I had to take a few minutes to visit all the vendor booths and I think I may have taken a little too long. But the booths were all so nice, and of course I had to taste the food. Especially the wedding cakes! “The Sweetest Day” had some delicious cupcakes. Yummm. And speaking of wedding cakes, I had to look at Maples Wedding Cakes. Their cakes are so gorgeous they look like works of art. I HAD to admire them for awhile. And could I help it if they were serving champagne in the Liberty room? Oh, and I bought the cutest most darling purse at the Beijo booth. They happened to be "booth neighbors" so of course I couldn't resist the purses! Dove Photography was our other "booth neighbors". We've never worked a wedding with them before, but they are very friendly and we enjoyed getting to know them.
I also enjoyed meeting other people “in the know” such as Ashley from AshleysBrideGuide. When she stopped by to visit our booth, it was the first time I had the pleasure of meeting her. Lynette had already told me about her, but I didn’t realize how cute and nice Ashley was! Or is? She was wearing the cutest green shoes that matched her outfit perfectly, and being a shoe girl, I notice such things. Anyway, she’s adorable and writes an excellent blog to help brides plan their wedding. If you haven’t checked it out, you need to.
But the best thing about the evening for both me and Lynette was meeting and talking with the brides. One of our very own December Brides stopped by to say hello, which was very nice. There are so many nice brides-to-be out there! If you happen to be one of them and stopped by our booth, we’d love to hear from you!
OMG! It is waaaaay past my bedtime, so I will bring this to a close. I will be writing more very soon, but for now, I’m going to bed…….
