Leslie & Clay's "Save the Date" Shoot
Tuesday, April 8, 2008 Hey Folks. How has everyone’s April been so far? It’s been very busy for us at McNeal Video. Especially Lynette whose fingers are literally being worked to the bones from sitting at the computer and editing weddings. She loves having bony fingers tho.
This past weekend, after waiting and waiting and waiting for a dry, warm, pretty spring weekend, FINALLY, we had one. And we couldn’t have asked for a prettier Sunday.
What were we doing, you ask? Well, we shot a “Save the Date” video for one of our couples, Leslie and Clay, who are getting married in November. And can I say it again? Sorry, but I have to….. Leslie and Clay were SO MUCH FUN to work with. We have the BEST couples!
In case you were wondering what a “Save the Date” video is, it’s a short video that the couple sends out and/or posts online that informs their guests to SAVE THE DATE. This is sent out several months before the wedding, and then the invitations are sent out closer to the wedding date. But with a “Save the Date”, guests know not to make plans for that special wedding weekend long before just a few weeks before the wedding when the invitations come.
It just makes sense! In our busy, busy world people plan their lives MONTHS in advance instead of weeks in advance. So if you’re having a wonderful wedding and you want your family and friends to be there, and THEY want to be there, then give them a head’s up with a “Save the Date” video.

Getting back to Sunday. The day was soooooo beautiful, and Leslie and Clay are the outdoorsy types so they seemed to enjoy running and playing and pretend fishing and wading in the creek and swinging……all with cameras recording their every move. They were enjoying each others company so much I hardly think they knew we were there!

They also brought along a co-star which was Tank, their Maltipoo puppy. Leslie informed us that since they got a “fru fru” dog, Clay insisted that it have a tough name. I call that a good compromise. Since I’m a major animal lover, I spent most of the time while not shooting, baby talking Tank and telling him that he was soooo cute, but cute in a manly way, of course. : )
In short, (if it’s possible for me to be short), it was a fun and relaxed day. Leslie and Clay were so much fun to work with that now I’m counting down the days until their wedding. It’s going to be so much fun, I can hardly wait!
So it’s somewhere between day number 215 and 214 ……and I’m going to bed.
