MEGAN & BARRY
Wednesday, December 24, 2008 Hi All! Hope everyone had a merry Christmas! Also hope that not too many of you have caught the "crud" that's going around. Unfortunately, I (Lynette) have . . . and Cheryl is under the weather as well -- but I am determined to get this post up about Megan and Barry's wedding, so I'm going to "sub" for Cheryl this week. This was our last wedding of 2008, and Megan and Barry's wedding and reception were so great that I just have to share it with you!

Megan and Barry were married at Hillwood Country Club on a very rainy December 20. They kept the ceremony simple (although the decor in the room was beautiful!) and invited a few friends and family members to be there with them when they said their vows. Many more friends and family members joined them for the celebration at the reception (also at Hillwood Country Club).

All in all, it was a great day for us! Because, as usual, we were working for a great family, their planner was Marcia Husband (and we always enjoy working with her), and . . . we didn't have to pack up all our gear and drive to a different venue for the reception. That's reeeealllly nice! Another nice thing was that there were so many of our former brides there that we felt right at home!! Seriously -- I counted 10 former brides! How great is that???!!!!!!
We arrived to start shooting the prep at 2:00. Amanda didn't shoot with us this weekend. Some of you may have already heard that she is pregnant, and not feeling tip-top right now, so, Laura (who use to work with us before having her own babies) filled in. She'll be helping out alot in 2009!

Megan was alot of fun during the day. And looked beautiful in her gown. She found that she didn't quite enjoy wearing the veil, but endured it until most the photos were taken. She has one of the most expressive faces! While grabbing frames to post here on the blog, I couldn't help but laugh out loud sometimes. But, I'm saving most of those frames for the video! :-)

The bride and groom didn't want to see each other until Megan walked down the aisle, so photos were taken in separate groups. First the guys, then the ladies.

Their photographer was Mary Rosenblum. She and her husband, Adam, are alot of fun to work with and the day went by quickly. Soon, guests were arriving and it was time for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, Mary finished up the family photos while guests were served hors d'oerves and more guests arrived for the big party. The dining room opened and everyone was treated to wonderful food and great music by Super T.

I have to say, this was the prettiest I think I've ever seen Hillwood Country Club look. Everything was Christmasy with a winter wedding theme. I'm partial to the color blue anyway, but when I first saw the dining room, it took my breath away. Flower arrangements were done by Branches, and, as you can see, they were gorgeous!

After dinner, the wedding party was announced, special dances were danced, cakes were cut, and then the party started!

Without doubt, the highlight of the evening was while Megan, all her bridesmaids, and her mom were on stage with Super T.

Megan certainly enjoyed herself while on stage .. and so did her mom and all the other girls! But Megan was definitely the "star" of the show! Fun stuff! It is definitely "sometimes only video will do" content, so I've already posted that portion of the video online. You can view it here. (Total time that they were on stage was over 20 minutes, so I broke it down into 2 parts. Be sure to watch both clips.)

Again, the time flew, and before we knew it, it was 11pm and time for the party to end. The dance floor was packed all evening, and it ended with SuperT leading a 'train' of guests out to the front door where they grabbed their bubble bottles and waited for the couple to make their exit.

Little did the couple know, but they had a surprise waiting for them. Santa was there in a red convertible waiting to whisk them away!
It was so funny to watch as they made their exit. Santa swooped Megan up in his arms and prepared to drop her into the car seat as he informed Barry that he couldn't go!!!! What a hoot!!!

What a great couple! And what a great day! Cheryl, Laura, and I enjoyed being there and are glad that you chose us to capture it for you! We send our best wishes to Megan and Barry as they begin their new life together as husband and wife.
