BILLY LOU & LARRY
Monday, November 3, 2008 Hey there! This was such a great weekend! First, it was “Fall Behind” weekend. My favorite time of the year! I’ve been waiting to get my hour back for a long, long time. Then, The Titans won yet ANOTHER game! Whoo-hoo!
And we had another GREAT wedding on Saturday. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Billy Lou Smith and Larry Wright were married on November 1 at Woodmont Christian Church. It was an absolutely gorgeous day without a cloud in the sky. We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day.

Plus, I was excited to be back at Woodmont Christian. For those of you who read my notes, you may recall that earlier this year we had a wedding with Tamara and Luther at Woodmont Christian. (See my notes for May 3, 2008). Anyway, back then I had something to prove with Woodmont Christian Church. I had been dreaming for a long, long, long, time about having a wedding there and being able to video the outside of that beautiful white church. But I had a problem getting that “perfect” shot of the church. It mocked me. But not THIS time. This time, I was prepared. I just walked right up to that church and took my shots and with the white church against the blue sky, I think I got some pretty good shots. I think that Woodmont Christian Church and I have called a truce!

From outside to indoors, Billy Lou and Larry had an absolutely beautiful wedding. Everything had the perfect touch of class. I had a nice long time to capture the details on video inside the empty church before the photo shoot and I noticed something right away. The color pink. Being a Pink Girl myself, I recognized immediately that the bride was also a Pink Girl. The bridal bouquet as well as bridesmaid’s bouquets and boutonnières and flower arrangements were all done in a tasteful pink motif. The pens for the guests to sign the guest book were also pink. I LOVED it! There were pink bows on the ends of the pews and the large flower arrangements at the front of the church were predominately pink. Everything was gorgeous. I was in Heaven!

I was also happy because Billy Lou and Larry chose to see each other before the ceremony, which meant that I got to see the bride in her dress before she walked down the aisle! I was with the groom before he saw the bride, and Amanda and Lynette were with the bride. I think I had a little bit of a nervous groom on my hands, but certainly not in a bad way. I think he was just very happy and excited.

Larry had a great sense of humor while waiting for his moment to see his bride. And when Billy Lou walked down the aisle and said to Larry that he could turn around and see her, WOW! What a reaction from Larry! I think he liked what he saw. And it’s always special for a bride on her wedding day to hear such nice compliments from her groom. Again, such a NICE couple!

Then we went into the photo shoot, but I first must add that Billy Lou’s dress was soooooo beautiful. It was the perfect dress to compliment Billy Lou and her natural beauty and elegance. And if you don’t believe me, well, just look at the dress and Billy Lou herself! See????? Isn’t it perfection? I also noticed during the photo shoot that we had a totally unruffled bride. She was so calm, yet having a wonderful time.

The ceremony itself was very lovely. The church was softly lit by candlelight and soft overhead lighting. I was up in the balcony during the ceremony and probably had the best seat in the house. I found myself continuing to look over my viewfinder to take in the whole picture. Everything was just so lovely. I wish I could describe how warm and soft the ceremony looked. I’m glad we have it all on video.
Afterward, the bride and groom and guests made their way to the reception which was held at Richland Country Club. Amanda and I stayed for the reception, and since Amanda is the only person I know who drives faster, no---CRAZIER than me, she beat me there. But not by much!

When I walked through the doors at Richland County Club, I was immediately greeted by the wedding cake! It was front and center, and it was beautiful. And it was decorated PINK! There were also white and pink M & M party favors with the bride and grooms name on them. And the flowers in the reception area were absolutely gorgeous. Oh, and there were pink candle holders. Like I said earlier, I LOVED IT! It was elegant and sophisticated.

The entertainment for the evening was a jazz band, Jaimee Paul. The lead singer, who I assume was Jaimee, had a voice that was silky smooth. She sang the classics of her musical genre. I had a chance to speak with Jaimee during a break and she seemed as nice as she was talented. The music, along with the candle lit room gave off a perfect ambience for the evening. The guests were clearly enjoying the food, company, and atmosphere. There was also a strong feeling of friends and family in the room that also gave warmth to the evening. During the First Dances, I especially loved the way that Billy Lou’s father danced her around the room. It was fun to watch.

It was a totally perfect day and perfect evening. I guess I would say the day was PERFECTION! Too soon it was time for me and Amanda to leave for the evening, but I know we captured some lovely moments on video that Billy Lou and Larry will treasure forever. And thanks so much to Billy Lou and Larry for allowing us to video their wonderful day for them! All the best and much happiness to you both!

And now, even though I have my extra hour back, it's really never enough, and its time for this girl to go to bed!
